I can just picture the bulging eyeballs and veins on the neck of a GB as stands over a WT writer, dictating this blather.

GB Stridency: Nudge, Nudge, Wink, Wink Doesn't Work Anymore
by metatron incurrently, it often seems like everything that comes from the glorious masters of time and space (aka 'the governing body that couldn't shoot straight') sounds like it would be printed in capital letters if it was part of an email (very annoying).. which tells you that:.
the old 'nudge, nudge, wink, wink' style of watchtower command and control ain't working anymore.
wha' happened?

I also get the feeling the writer thinks he's getting paid by the word......

Blondie's Comments You Will Not Hear at the 01-15-2012 WT Study (TEMPORARY)
by blondie inthey were strangers and temporary residents.

Room 215
I attended the WT study yesterday; it was amusing that the elder conducting the meeting, being an affluent sort -- married, both with careers, no kids, huge house, luxury cars, all the "boy toys" imaginable -- world travellers (a regular on all the Society's overseas junkets), etc. etc. found it necessary to say "there's nothing wrong with higher education; we just have to be .... balanced "(whatever that means)...
At this point several of his type in the audience -- also elders -- raised their hands to endorse his view, making similar comments. During some post-meeting chit-chat, I said I couldn't help wondering -- aloud -- to one of those who commented, whether they would have made those remarks if the Circuit Overseer were in attendance!

Still a hard line on DF family members WTApr15 2012
by Gladring inthe april 2012 wt study article has some of the most strongly worded statements about contact with disfellowshipped family members.. page 12, paragraph 17: -.
good that can come when a family loyally.
upholds jehovahs decree not to associate.

First and foremost, consider the uber-phoniness of another of the purported "real-life" examples cited in the paragraph 17; it ranks right up there with the recent one in which an affluent JW couple divested themselves of two (or was it three?) homes, a luxury automobile or two jewelry, etc. and are now deliriously happy as regular pioneer door-bangers..... Thanks Gladring... there's a palpable undercurrent of desperation in their stridency; they're losing their grip on the flock and they're rattled!

Why the house to house preaching work never works
by RULES & REGULATIONS ini dislike when people come knocking on my door ''cold calling'' with their sales pitch.
do you need a new roof?
do you want to donate to a local school so they can pay for a trip?

Room 215
Door-to-door preaching is nothing more than a "feel good" exercise for guilt-ridden dubbies; it's grossly inefficient and a huge waste of time and resources. If the WT truly believes it to be the "life-saving work" they claim, then why not marshall all of the Society's immense resources and shout the message from every modern means of telecommunication available to them?

Fascinating; thanks. Makes me wonder who actually gave the talk... it would speak volumes about who's got the most clout amongst the 7 gerontocrats sitting in the seat of Moses. Or was it a "show-of-solidarity" symposium?

I have never felt at home at a bar
by sabastious inlast night i went to the casino for a friends birthday, we played blackjack and some slots, it was a 6.5/10 on the fun scale type of night.
i got up from the blackjack table to go to the bar to get myself a drink.
i sat down at the bar and ordered my favorite drink: a long island iced tea.

When will They Ever Learn? Probably Never
by Room 215 in... that most humans, including - and especially jws -- yearn for normalcy in their lives -- some harmless enjoyment of life's pleasures, a measure of recognition and personal fulfillment for having lived an honorable, a sense of uniqueness and individuality, tolerance and respect for the individuality of others; a productive life of self-sufficiency; and the enjoyment of family and friends, especially in one's latter years.
all of this is denied them by an unremitting bombardment of guilt, mind-numbing repetition, thought control and behavior manipulation.
